Rehabilitation Counselling

Rehabilitation counselling focuses on helping individuals with disabilities or chronic health
conditions lead fulfilling and productive lives by providing them with the necessary support, skills, and resources to overcome barriers and achieve their personal, educational, vocational, and social goals.

Rehab counsellors primarily work with individuals who have physical, cognitive, sensory, or psychiatric disabilities, as well as chronic health conditions. Clients may include people who have experienced accidents, injuries, illnesses, or congenital conditions that impact their daily functioning. Counsellors conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the individual's strengths, limitations, and rehabilitation needs. Based on the assessment, we then develop and help clients implement individualised rehab plans to address physical, emotional, vocational, and social needs. This might include seeking other treatments, through to vocational support and assistance, to accessing government or other supports to help with work or study goals.
